Parent and Child Sewing doesn’t have to end in tears!
Okay, you asked… here it is. Mother-daughter, mother-son, father-daughter, father-son, mother-step-daughter, father-and-someone-else’s-kid… well, parent-child sewing classes. Our project will be lounge pants that are simple enough for a beginner — even if neither parent nor child knows how to sew! Our first offering of this class will be on the 20th of October — check our calendar for a more complete description.
Come to your four hour lesson empty handed and leave with a completed project you can both enjoy! The price of this class is $45. This fee includes your fabric (you choose from an assortment of patterns during class), patterns, and notions! We have extra machines for your use, but you’d better sign up fast! — there is a three team minimum (three parents & three children).

Shannon, sometimes better known as 
Heidi Massingill is an experienced dressmaker and fiber artist, her design studio specialized in special occasion wear and fine tailoring. Her resume includes The Phantom of the Opera, The Cleveland Ballet, Peter’s Store for Women in Chagrin Falls, Margaret’s Fine Tailoring for Women in Rocky River, The Cleveland Orchestra Chorus and more. She also designs and creates a line of children’s knitwear, Chikadee Handknits, and holds Knitting and Crochet Instructor certification with New York’s 
Megan Engelmann is a Cleveland-based fashion designer and graduate of Kent State University’s Shannon Rodgers and Jerry Silverman School of Fashion Design and Merchandising. She has been sewing for nearly twenty years and specializes in women’s clothing design and illustration. As a working fashion and accessories designer for a large Ohio-based company, Megan keeps her skills as sharp as her scissors! She has been teaching sewing, illustration, and design for six years.
