Church of Craft, Cleveland meets again!
3 Comments Published by Megan April 15th, 2008 in Church of Craft, Clubs & groups, Creativity boostJoin us on April 20th from 1-4pm for Church of Craft. This group gets together monthly for an afternoon of social crafting. Crafters include people with talents of all types, including but not limited to sewers, designers, crocheters, knitters, popsicle stick joke writers, and really good ironers (hey, that’s an art form). This event is a great creativity boost for those of you looking to rid yourselves of the winter blahs.
See you Sunday!

Katie is a high school student, she had a dress from a local vintage shop that was way 80s, so she wanted to remove the puffy sleeves and create a bubble hem and sweetheart neckline.
She also made the shawl she is wearing in the photo. Katie dabbles in sewing on her own and just needed a little advice, so she came in for help from Stitch Cleveland. I’m looking forward to seeing her next project! Doesn’t the dress look great?
With prom season upon us (so soon?!), not to mention the summer bridal season, don’t forget that Stitch Cleveland can not only help you make the dress of your dreams (or alter a pre-existing one like Katie’s), but we can also do alterations and fit adjustments, too! Call us or stop by to talk about your project.
Finally, the patternmaking tools and dress forms you’ve all been waiting for have arrived! Among the new tools are pattern notchers, needle tracing wheels, industry pro dressforms (male and female, available in all sizes and many styles), half scale dressforms — great for practicing your draping skills, hip curves, L-squares, pattern paper scissors, fabric shears, and more!
Call to ask about our student discounts on dressforms or for more information. We can also special order any size or style of dressform you’d like, even custom ones!
Stitch Cleveland will be closed through Saturday, as we’re teaching and have a booth at the Original Sewing & Quilt Expo. Come visit us there and check out all the latest and greatest in the worlds of sewing, quilting, knitting, crochet and more. We’ll be back in the studio Sunday.
Did you know that we also sell spinning wheels and equipment by special order? You can stop by the shop and try out some of the wheels we have here, learn what you like and don’t like, and then we can order you the wheel of your dreams!
Seen here is the new Louet Julia, a beautiful wheel much like the Victoria we have in the shop.
For more information on spinning, spinning lessons and all things fibery and fun, set up a lesson or an appointment with Shannon today!
(and don’t forget, we have copies of Shannon’s Interweave Press book Spin to Knit in stock — or bring your own copy to be signed!)
Hey everyone! As Megan noted, the blizzard caught me out of town, but I’ll be back on Tuesday just in time to offer several new classes. This Saturday, it’s beaded wristlets from 11:00-1:00. Bring sock weight yarn (this is great for using up leftovers if you’re a sock knitter) and beads. Both are available next door at River Colors if you need them. The class is $25. And of course, if you need it, additional private instruction is available.
When we are dying for relief from the hot summer sun…
0 Comments Published by Megan March 9th, 2008 in News, Schedule…we will all look back on this and laugh. Well, day two and we are still digging ourselves out. Looks like Stitch Cleveland is having another snow day. Poor Shannon is stuck in Boston after her Stitch ‘n Beach cruise with Debbie Stoller. I can hear all of your sympathetic groans now! Stitch Cleveland will be open on Monday from 12 - 4 to satisfy any of your stitchy needs.
Baby, it’s cold outside! Stitch Cleveland is snowed in… or should we say out? We’ll be closed today due to the rough weather. We love the occasional snow day, but unfortunately we can’t even open the doors to Stitch Cleveland to get to our poor sewing machines! I sure hope they are okay in there…
Stitch Cleveland will have a booth at the upcoming Original Sewing & Quilt Expo at Cleveland’s IX Center. Megan and Shannon will be teaching sewing, crochet and knitting classes, and they sell out fast, so sign up today! We’ve got brochures for the show in our shop and would be happy to tell you more when you stop in. See you there!
